FREE Explore Creativity Courses – Creative & Digital Careers In Halton

Thanks to funding from the Thomas Wall Trust, we have been able to extend our Creative & Digital Careers In Halton project. We are pleased to be able to provide four more FREE training opportunities in Digital Arts & Technology skills for adults (aged 19+) who live in Halton (Widnes & Runcorn). 

We will be delivering four online courses that will start January 2021, each having a different creative focus. These short creative courses will run over 4 weeks, consisting of 4 x 2 hour sessions, which will be delivered online.

These courses have been designed to enable you to develop both creative and technological skills, as you explore potential pathways into creative careers or future endeavours.

Course Details:   

Graphic Design

Start Date: Thursday 7th Jan 2021 at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Through expert tuition, small class sizes and access to a variety of digital arts and technology lessons, these courses will teach you new creative skills, in a friendly and fun online environment. 

During these sessions, you will be invited to further enhance your skills and knowledge outside of the classroom, by completing the iDEA (inspiring digital enterprise award) award Bronze.

Incentives 

As an incentive to complete the course, participants will receive a £10 Amazon voucher after completing the 4-week course.

Who?

We are looking for people who fulfil the following criteria: 

  • Aged 19 and over
  • A resident of Halton Borough 
  • Unemployed

Due to the amount of digital technology, we will be using, you will need to have some basic IT skills. These sessions are perfect for anyone who is interested in Creative and Digital Technology, but doesn’t know where to start, or, has very little experience in them and is keen to know more.

Where? 

These courses will be completed online. We use Zoom video conference to deliver the sessions, this allows you to see the tutor and speak to them directly from your home (or anywhere you have internet access). We use Google Classrooms to enable you to access course documents and submit work for tutor review.  

Things you will need.

Each of the courses has its own equipment requirements. Please check the specifications on the courses pages for the recommended equipment, but as a minimum, you will need:

  • Access to the internet. 
  • A device connected to the internet, with the Zoom application downloaded.
  • Another device (more details on specific course pages) which you can use to complete the course. 

If you would like to take part in this project but do not have access to the necessary equipment, please let us know as we may be able to assist with providing equipment for you to borrow.

All of the courses are completely FREE OF CHARGE thanks to funding from Thomas Wall Trust.
