Digital Arts For All

Our FREE 4-week Graphic Design Basics Course is designed for those of you who are interested in creative,  graphic design but perhaps don’t know where to begin. These sessions are perfect for anyone who has limited experience in graphic design but is keen to know more.  If you want to get creative, try design and learn new skills in a supportive, social atmosphere then this is the course for you.

 

Topics we’ll cover on this course:

  • Fundamental graphic design processes
  • File formats and sizes 
  • Different graphic design tools and software available. 
  • Creating digital graphics such as logos, posters and images for social media, with guidance from your tutors
     

Who can get involved?

To take part you:

  • Must be Aged 18+
  • Must be from Halton
  • May be lonely or feel socially isolated
  • May be experiencing poor mental health or wellbeing
  • May live in a low income household
  • May be experiencing health inequalities
  • May be NEET (not in education, employment or training)

     This Graphic Design Basics course is funded by the Arnold Clark Community Fund The pandemic and lockdowns have been difficult for everyone, they have impacted some people’s mental health, with many people becoming isolated and lonely. This project aims to help people address some of the difficulties that we’ve faced over the past few years. Signing up this course offers the opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills, both of which are great ways to improve your wellbeing.

     

    What are the entry requirements? 

    You will need a basic working knowledge of computers; for example can you download a file from the internet and rename it on your computer? 

    During this course, participants will (with guidance, if needed) set up online accounts (e.g. Google, graphic design software accounts, Adobe).

    All technology and equipment will be provided for the sessions by Digital Arts Box CIC.  there’s no need to bring anything with you, although please feel free to bring a pen and notepad with you to take notes.

     

    When does this project start?

    This project is made up of 4 weekly, 2-hour sessions. The sessions will be held on Tuesday mornings 10:00am – 12:00pm.

    Are there any costs involved?

    Due to all the places being fully funded by Arnold Clark Community Fund, the Graphic Design Basics course is completely free of charge.

     

    How do I sign up? 

    Sign up for a place by completing the registration form on Eventbrite. You’ll then receive an automated email confirming your enrolment.

    Tickets are nontransferable – please ensure the name of the participant you sign up matches the person who arrives at our session. Each person attending must have their own ticket.
