Creative Hangout

We’re launching our Creative Hangout project; a series of free creative workshops for young adults (aged 16-25) from Halton who have learning disabilities and/or autism. The focus of these sessions is to enhance the emotional wellbeing of young adults through a range of fun, digital and creative activities and to provide opportunities to socialise with friends old and new.

Creative Hangout session topics are determined by our participants. We’ll start off week one with one of our most popular sessions: stop-motion animation. After that, we’ll be led by the creative decisions of our participants. We ask the group what they want to try at the next session, this way participants get to try out new skills or get to hone the creative skills they most enjoy.

The past few years have been tough for everyone, but the pandemic has been especially challenging for those in our community with additional needs.  It is more important than ever that young adults with additional needs have ample opportunities to socialise with their peers; be involved in positive experiences and have access to a variety of creative ways in which to express themselves.

The Creative Hangout sessions are made possible thanks to funding from Halton Borough Council.
